Tomorrow, I embark on a journey to Bogota, Colombia! This will be my first solo adventure. Kind of. I’ll be volunteering with El Camino Academy (a Christian school, http://eca.edu.co/) for a week and they’re taking care of my accommodations. I’ll be staying with a host family and helping out at the school from 8am-4pm everyday! I have no clue what I’ll be doing, but I’m sure I’ll find out when I get there haha. I’m excited and nervous and scared to do a lot of exploring by myself! I feel like traveling to Ecuador and Peru should have prepped me well for this? We’ll see! 🙂
The saddest thing is that as soon as I get back from Colombia, I’ll have to say goodbye to my Ecuadorian host family. I wish I had planned a shorter Colombia trip so I could have spent more time with them, but it cost over $200 to change the flight. Sigh. I’ll just have to spend some really quality time with them today and tomorrow, and then on the 15th when I get back. I’ll probably be bawling that whole day. WAHHHHHHH I love them! 😦 I never liked saying goodbye….
Though, side-note: I’m actually really excited for Colombia food. Check these out, they look delicious: http://www.mycolombianrecipes.com/12-colombian-appetizers-and-snacks-you-must-try
