I went to a baby shower this afternoon and it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had thus far because it just felt real, like an authentic cultural experience. Granted, it was a baby shower so it did have some Western (particularly American) influence, but still…! It’s also the most fun baby shower I’ve ever been to! I’ve only been to like 3, and they were all in a church basement so… haha. Anyway, it was my host-aunt’s baby shower and she invited probably at least 35 people because her apartment was crowded! It was really cutely decorated though, a lot of pink stuff everywhere. The party consisted of games and food. But TONS of games. Tons of games IN SPANISH. They were all ridiculously fun though. I felt like I was with my own family!! Ahhh!! My only regret is that I didn’t bring my camera 😦 It’s ok though, I enjoyed the moment for what is was and took mental pictures! 🙂
Tonight, my brothers and I watched Bear Grylls’ Worst-Case Scenario show. I told them that it was fake and staged, but they didn’t believe me! I think I made a pretty convincing argument though. I hope they don’t hate me for ruining their hero. I just didn’t want them to be fooled by those money-hungry people… maybe ignorance is bliss… maybe I’m just bitter from when I found out Santa Claus wasn’t real… haha I don’t even know.
Tomorrow is my host-dad’s birthday! WHOO!!!!! Partying, partying, yeah! Not really. It’ll still be fun though. WHOO!!!!!!!
